It was late at night in the streets of Hargeon Town. But for a town so small, it was surprising how loud streets were and how empty homes are. Most of the people usually retreated to bars and local 'clubs' at this hour, apparently. One would normally think that it was dark and silent at this hour, setting a relaxing mood. But in a town full of fishermen, that was far from the truth. Witnessing this jolly town, Elie had returned from fishing himself. Was he a fishermen? No. It was actually his first time fishing, really (and was terrible at it, the only catch he got was a sock full of who knows what? He was laughed at the rest of the day.) But, he had been travelling from town to town for exploration's sake, and had come across some haughty fishermen who invited, no, forced him into some good ol' fashion fishing. Long story short, they took him to the oldest bar in town, which was unsurprisingly filled with drunks and muscleheads.

Now, Elie was at a table in the center of the bar with about five fisherman he hung out with for the day, most six feet and up in height, short haircuts with dark colors, and with messy facial hair. None of them wore new clothing, it was either a tank top or a short sleeved shirt that had the sleeves torn off of it (Which actually looked pretty cool seeing as they actually had a bit of muscle to show off). Each had a full mug of beer in their hands and cheered to good days. Some of them even argued about who caught the best fish, if they caught fish at all. Arguments and laughter turned into embarrassing stories, then eventually talking about their earliest memories in their childhood. Each went in a random order and shared their stories until all eyes fell on Elie.

"And what about you, tanny?"Tanny being a nickname they gave him because of his dark skin.

Elie held his mug of beer silently, looking into the reflection, refusing to drink it due to the fact that he was underaged and it smelt bitter. He quickly raised his head when his 'name' was called and looked around confused. "Wait, what?" He looked around from man to man, clearly wanting a quick reminder. The same bearded man called out to him again,

"I said, what's your earliest memory, kid? You look all funny and 'yer young, must be somethin you could tell us?" The rest of the men nodded and began to get excited. It was also quite funny how uncommon olive skin was in Hargeon Town, apparently. Elie looked back down into his cup again and fell silent, "...Well, I guess my earliest memory is my most ironic one." And thus, the story began.

Elie was 13 when he first met the most shocking thing he had ever seen. A dragon, that typically fell into Eastern Culture. His name was Hralsvegr (Her-alls-vay-ger, but Elie just called him Hral.), and he had beautiful, rich brown scales and a beige mane that trailed his spine from head to tail. He had four long whiskers and one big snout with a large nose. He had furry eyebrows and sharp, almond eyes and smooth texture in his skin.

When Elie met him, he had run away from home out of frustration when his Mother and Father had taken their anger out on him with their marriage. He was nearly in tears when this happened. He had a bruise on his cheek and a scrape on his elbow, for being slapped and proceeding to fall on the dry wood floorboards. He ran deep into the forest, so deep that he didn't recognize where he was anymore. Eventually he fell, and got another scrape on the knee this time. At this point, he could no longer hold in the depth of his sadness and even just began to sob loudly. That is when the dragon appeared. The first thing Elie saw was his sharp, white teeth that his tongue licked. And his ferocious glare that was frozen on it's face. At that moment, Elie thought of death, and froze.

He got closer and closer, moving silently but slowly. It was as if his grave was taking a step closer to him and he did nothing about it. Elie's tear filled eyes filled with fear and resentment, grabbing the nearest stick and held it like a dagger, breathing heavily and shaking uncontrollably. The dragon suddenly stopped moving, despite the stick being no threat to him. I.. I'll kill you if yo-you get any closer!! I REALLY WILL!" He wouldn't. No other muscle besides his mouth would stop shake, nor move out of place. What lies did this child preach.

The silence settled in, and the only noise you could hear were a child's fearful breaths and the sound of the wind whistling in your ears. The both looked at each other in the eye. His hazel ones and Elie's gold ones. They were both equally beautiful...

Suddenly, Elie swallowed his spit with one big gulp and screamed again, "I REALLY WILL-- ?!"

"Are you hurt?" Three words had rolled off of the dragon's tongue, so smooth, and so deep. How amazing was it that three words, just three words, even coming from someone or something you fear and resented, could make you fall to your knees, weak from sobbing? And Elie did just that, he dropped the stick and fell to his knees while holding his eyes, crying, eventually just venting.  "She hit me! She hit me real hard! And then she pushed me! And now my elbow hurts! I hate Ma and Pa! I really do, and, and..." He was one big crying baby at this point, but so blinded by his tears and closing his aching eyes so tight, he didn't even notice that the dragon had sat down in frnt of him, listening silently, and began to pet his hair gently with his paw. He continued to vent about the abuse he was suffering at home, and somethings completely irrelevant that even he didn't know he was upset about. Saying things like "Pa never pays attention to me!" and "Ma gave me raw meat three nights ago and I got sick! She didn't even ask if I was okay!" And some comments were less angry, just more sad then others. Eventually he stopped crying and dried his cheeks and eyes with pressing rubs of his wrists. He sniffled up the snot that followed down his nose and hugged his knees as he stared into the dirt.

The dragon smiled and tilted his head, "Feel better, Elie?" He asked sweetly, with his deep, rough voice. Elie couldn't help but looked up at him with his red eyes and drop his jaw just a little bit, it was still hard to believe what he was hearing and seeing. Elie pointed at himself, confused. "How did you know my name?..." He asked. The large beast replied with the same sweet tone, "In some of your stories, you kept saying what your parents would call you. Elie."

Elie nodded and looked back into the dirt before quickly looking back up to the dragon again, frowning, "Oh... well, what's your name? If you have one..." It was amazing how quickly nerves would disappear when someone so strange listened to you so quietly, he totally forgot he was there for the meantime. The comfort between the two began to settle in.

    "Hralsvegr." He replied.

"Heralzvay-what?" Elie seemed just as confused as any other kid would be, it was a hard name to  pronounce.

Hralsvegr smiled and snickered, "Hralsvegr. You can shorten it if you'd li--"

"Whiskers," Elie interrupted and pointed at Hralsvegr's face.

    "....Whiskers?"

"I'll call you Whiskers. Because of your long whiskers." Elie smiled softly, as Hralsvegr couldn't help but smile back. The two began to talk and share more laughter together by the minute until it was dark. The two had bid their farewells, but in truth, Elie didn't really want to go home, mainly because he knew no one would be there to greet them. Maybe his parents were fighting again? That seemed to be an accurate prediction nowadays.

The next day, Elie ran deep into the woods upset again, but this time there were no tears, but just fists clenched in anger. He was covered in bruises, bandages here and there, but poorly placed on. Elie had ran into the forest clearing again and waited for Hralsvegr, who was there in waiting for him as well. They sat together and he listened to Elie's angry words, talking about he had gotten beat up by some 'rich boys' in the street. He was biting his busted lip in frustration, and eventually started to curse at them under his breath. Hralsvegr looked at him patiently before speaking again, "How troubling. . . did you fight back?"

Elie glared at the ground and began to play in the dirt with a twig, grumpy. "Well, yeah. But there were three of them, and they all had sticks and stones. Even I couldn't on three rich boys."

Hralsvegr sighed, "Do you have any means of protecting yourself?"

Elie's voice began to sound angrier as he kept asking questions, "Of course I do, I have two good hands and feet. I'd 'ought to use them, and they work." He began to form a smug grin on his face as he boasted about his fighting skills, but Hralsvegr only rolled his eyes.

"Clearly... must be why you're covered in bruises and your knuckles are bloody,"

Elie lightly punched the beast's belly, "Shut up, Whiskers."

"How about I teach you some real fighting skills?" It was this comment that captured Elie's interest, no matter how confident he was in his own strength. Hralsvegr spoke about his abilities and how Elie could inherit that. He couldn't help but grudgingly agree for the sake of vengeance. But later, this would change. They both had agreed to meet tomorrow, and days after that to train these skills. He became not only a mentor, but a companion. A few weeks passed (Most of it meditation and 'listening to your heartbeat'), and Elie finally was able to muster up the energy to produce a flame. His eyes filled with excitement and self fulfillment, he was almost smug. Even though he was drenched in sweat from the 'training'. He wiped his lips and smirked, "...Heh. How about that, Whiskers? I got it!"

Hralsvegr raised a brow and nodded, but spoke with a frown, "Yes, but can you use it in defense?"

Elie began to bounce the fireball from hand to hand, as if telling him that he had practically mastered the art of Fire Dragon Slayer Magic. "Well of course. No one I know can make fire from nothing!"

"Then prove it." His voice suddenly became one of a harbinger's, and in the flash of an instant, one semi-large fireball had headed his way. Suddenly, Elie's face became one of arrogance into one of shocked. He quickly threw the tiny ball of flames from his hand at the larger, incoming one in hopes of countering it. But barely anything happened. Elie began to panic, chanting all the spells that he knew and assumed posture for all the stances that he was taught, dodging each slowly incoming fireball as they were thrown with quick sprints and impressive agility. Little did Elie know that he was expected to dodge these if they got too close, if they got close at all. They were breathed at a speed capable of dodging, by Hralsvegr. How pitiful.

"Stop running, you fool! You will never protect yourself like that! What happened to all that confidence?!" Hralsvegr yelled, more to encourage him then to frustrate him.

Shut up! If you gave me a moment to breathe, it wouldn't be so hard! GYAH!" Elie shrieked as he dodged them one by one.

"You have two good arms and legs, use them you child! You can't have all things the easy way!"

"I'm going to use them, just shut up for ONE SECOND!" He continued to evade each attack, getting angrier by the second.

"You're just a child, but I expected more from you!"

"Don't call me a child!" He huffed.

    "FOOLISH CHILD!"

"I said..." Elie stopped moving for a second, and balled up his first, pulling back as if he was getting ready to punch someone, "...don't call me that, WHISKERS!" His arm thrusted into the air, towards Hralsvegr's direction and then came a sphere of flames of equal size, colliding with the last incoming fireball and sparking a large explosion, blowing Elie the opposite direction. "Wyah!"

The dust had settled down, and the area was clear again after a few minutes, Hralsvegr walked over to the fallen Elie with a smile. "Congratulations, Elie."

Elie opened his eyes, settling his sights on his mentor again, realizing his had a burn mark on his snout. Nothing major, but surely noticeable. Elie spoke softly, his words filled with guilt, "Did I do that?"

    Hralsvegr nodded, "Yes."

Elie frowned and looked down, upset. "I don't want to be a Dragon Slayer, then..."

Sighing, Hralsvegr sat in front of him and ruffled his hair with a single finger. "Powerful, isn't it? It had much destructive capability, but also great potential. Use it to protect, not to destroy. You've learned what you've come here to learn, yes?"

Elie nodded. Hralsvegr smiled, "Then come back tomorrow for some further training, I must teach you as much as you please before I..."

Elie looked back up to him and tilted his head, "Before you what?"

    "Before I leave."

"Why? And where are you going?"

"Just come back tomorrow, and the day after that, and the days after that." At those words, he flew away into a deeper part of the forest, disappearing from sight almost instantly. Elie was going to pester him some more about it, but he then returned home that night, only to return the next.

And so, he did. For nearly three weeks he did and eventually forgot about his mentor's foreshadowing about his dismissal, and focused on getting more powerful, and he did. He was able to counter most of his mentor's poor attacks after months of training, but little did Elie know that the day he went to tell Hralsvegr how much he loved him would be the last.

He was naive at first, and waiting all evening for Hralsvegr to come. He never did. But he waited the next day two, and the day after that. Still no Whiskers in sight. Weeks had passed and still nothing. Finally, Elie sat in the very spot he met him, and wept. Cursing under his breath, "Whiskers, you idiot..."

Later on the next year, he had gotten an older tattoo artist to ink his arm in the design of Hralsvegr. As he tattooed him, he told him the story of how they met and how he taught him lessons of life and lessons of strength. Elie offered a detailed description of him as well, because who could forgot that beautiful Eastern Dragon? This tattoo was all that he had left of him, his memory. When he told the story of the Fire Dragon that taught him to make flames out of nothing, no one believed him. They envied his power, yes, but no one believed him. Everyone knew dragons didn't exist. And if they did, why here? Here in the slums? A poor neighborhood full of crime and violence? These were things he had wished he had asked him before he left. He had wished he had tried to treat him better and tell him how he was able to fend off bullies the other day. He wished he could hold him again in a warm, embarrassing embrace and tell stories. He wished he could see his friend again. How ironic was it that your friend was teaching you a magic meant to kill him? From that point on, Elie had sworn to use his power to protect and not to harm. It was the most he could do.

It had seemed that his tattoo was the only picture anyone ever had of Hralsvegr. And such a sad tale it was.

    I must say... AMAZING sample!

    Character Name: Kodi Rain
    Rank: D
    Guild: Hellfire Legion
    Slayer: Storm God
    RP Sample:
I was too lazy to color:
    Drip. Drop.

Rain wasn't always the best weather to fight in, but to Kodi it was her home field. The rain felt amazing against their clothes, slowly dancing down their body was the sensation that she craved. They hold their hand out to catch the rain. Now this rain wasn't any ordinary rain, it was Kodi's rain. Accumulating in her hand was a black puddle. The water was heavier than normal water, probably why they call it heavy rain. What an ugly name to give the sacred water of the gods, or the water meant to slay the immortal beings.

Kodi neared the city that she was called too. Era is what it went by, but it was no different than the rest of Fiore. The clouds above them accumulated, but the rain had only become a light drizzle. Most people don't really notice the color of the rain until it actually starts to downpour so Kodi's presence was still safe. Kodi wasn't actually on a job today, but instead fulfilling a favor for a friend. They wanted a rematch spar, seeing as how the last time they fought Kodi wiped the floor with them.

Kodi takes out a letter and reads it. "Dear Kodi, I want a rematch! I've gotten stronger since the last time we fought. Meet me in the usual spot! Sincerely, Jack." Jack was a childhood friend to Kodi back when she lived in Era. That was before they were taken. Kidnapped by minions to the man that ultimately ended up teaching Kodi how to kill him. It brought back bad memories. Memories that they didn't want to remember.

The usual place that was described in the letter was more disappointing once you saw it. What was the usual place was a broken down miniature coliseum on the outside of Era. Not many people know about because it's hidden well by the foliage and vines that had ended up calling the place home. As Kodi walked closer to it they saw their childhood friend munching on some of the wild mushrooms.

"Hey, idiot. Has nobody ever told you to not eat random mushrooms? They're poisonous." Kodi sent a glare Jack's way as he looked up dumbfounded.

"Y'know, i thought these tasted funny. Also, I'm surprised you came. Most of the times you don't reply to my mail so I was just assuming that you were gonna no-show." He spits out the mushrooms from his mouth and walks towards Kodi.

"I don't ignore your mail on purpose. I moved you idiot!" As he neared Kodi punched him on the top of the head. It was a playful punch, as this was the way they would act around people they were comfortable with. Kodi looked down at Jack with a smile as he began to rub his head.

"Ow! You're still quick to attack Kodi. Also, you punch hard for a girl-" He was interrupted by another whack to the head. "I mean, whatever you are."

Kodi sighed. Jack obviously didn't care much for the details so they weren't gonna explain it to him. Instead they grabbed him by the collar and dragged him into the coliseum. It looked as pretty as Kodi remembered it, with greens and beiges painted across the ground and seats. Kodi throws him across the coliseum and as they do that the rain starts to get heavier.

"Look. I don't have all day, so if you can hurry up that would be great. So what are the rules wise guy?" She waved her hands around in a frustrated motion to show that she had no time for his dumb games.

"I didn't say you could get a head start! The rules are this," He stands up and wipes dust of his damp clothes. "No killing and if the other person quits, you stop."

"I think you mean if you quit." Kodi giggles at heir remark as the rain turns into a thunderstorm. "Looks like you've angered the gods."

With that Kodi kicked off the battle with a black cloud forming underneath their feet as they head straight towards Jack. Jack also followed up with fire being released from his feet. Jack was a mere fire wizard, while Kodi was a god slayer. There was no way he was going to win this.

Kodi makes a slashing motion with their arms in front of them, causing a black cloud to form in between Kodi and Jack. They then followed it up by floating straight up on their cloud. A pillar of fire emerged out of the clouds knocking Kodi of her cloud and it dissipates. Kodi then counters with shooting a stream of black lightning from their fingertips. Jack rolled out of the way in time and threw a fireball at Kodi, in which they countered by slashing their hands in a x formation and water following that formation collided with the fireball, causing it to explode. Kodi then landed on the ground and began inhaling.

"Storm God's Bellow!" They let out out their breath which appeared to be a black hurrycane of furious wind that had the force of a tornado. Jack began to run to the side, Kodi's aim following him. Jack ended up running straight at Kodi and tackled them. On the way down, Kodi hit their head on a rock, knocking them unconcious.

Everything went black, and then a flash of light appeared. Kodi woke up, finding themselves on top of a mountain. It was raining hard, and in front of them sat a man with long white hair and a long white beard. "Hello child." That was all he said, his voice booming like thunder. Kodi realised that they were currently reliving a flash back, so they decided to play along with how it actually happened.

"W-who are you? Where is my mommy and daddy?" Tears began to stream down her face.

"My name? I go by many, but you may call me Zeus." The man stroked his beard as a lightning bolt struck next to him. "Your parents are no longer with us, as I've brought you to my home. You're here because i want to teach you. You see, I'm getting old. My time has come to pass on my knowledge to a new person, and with that i chose you." He reaches out to Kodi to pat them, but they quickly move their head.

    "What are you teaching me?"

"I'm teaching you how to slay a god." Zeus said with a straight face. Kodi looked at him with a curious look which made him laugh. The sound of it shook the ground itself.

Kodi finally came to in the real world, waking up to Jack hanging over them. "I guess you won."

    SAMPLE:

Rain is heavy that day. A man runs through the forest, his breathing ragged and clothing drenched. Sound is gone within the constant fall of droplets and so are those that have chased him. Tucked within the inside of his coat is something small and light. As if glowing in this dull atmosphere, he takes shelter under a large tree and slowly lifts the fabric. A child, about only three years old is clinging onto him. He has striking blonde hair; and despite them not being visible, he knows of those piercing eyes that veil just behind long lashes. This is his child. This is Alvah. His large hands stroke the small crown of the boy and hold him close. There are memories and images from before that could've been considered uplifting, but had only become something of sorrow. For this man is without the one he loves, the mother of this child. Humans resent towards halflings had evoked such a cruel action. Alvah is all that he has now... and in turn Sagan - the dragon of storms - would do everything he could to protect him.

    TWO YEARS LATER

In the depths of green, everything appeared to be reticent and perfect. The sky was clear with a vibrant endless blue, and the gentle winds danced within long strands of grass; rustling nearby leaves as they'd twirl on those translucent waves. Small birds sung familiar melodies, rodents searching casually for the fallen seeds that lay across the soft ground. All of them seemed to be at bliss with this undisturbed placing of land - until quickening footfalls left them to retreat into their homes. They were heavy enough to break those already fragile leaves, the small figure of a blonde-haired boy dashing quickly through the forest. As if it was his home, he shifted past tree after tree with ease, bare feet worn though accustomed to the somewhat rough floors. Many eyes glimpsed in his direction as he'd meander on by. There was an excited smile across his lips, anything but what may have first seemed like fear. Most were so familiar with chase or run that they hadn't expected this.

Then again the creatures of the woods whom loomed over Alvah with hungry eyes, were quick to understand who exactly was here in the forest with him. Something much more frightening than they had assumed themselves to be.

"Sagan! Sagan!" Alvah would shout, breaking into a large opening. One that was mostly hidden by the thick brambles and trees. There was a dragon that lay there. His flesh was a perfect and flawless silver which reflected the light in a shade of distant blue. His large blue eyes fluttered open to meet a similar shade, smiling just slightly as the child approached him in restless excitement. "I learnt how to use lightning! Just like you taught me! I did it when the wild-dogs cornered me!" this remark had the dragon worried for a moment, large nose nudging against the frame of Alvah gently.

"You're not hurt are you? Those damn dogs." a low irritated growl lingered past those daunting set of teeth. Alvah quickly shook his head back and forth. He knew well that Sagan could easily grow angered enough to wipe out pieces of this forest with the holler of his voice or the roar of his rage. To see the forest in pieces and the animals without their homes was something the blonde did not want to witness again. Alvah took a few steps backwards and hopped up and down, seeming to try and prove that he was alright and additionally - grasp the dragon's attention once more.

"Sagan! Can I show you? Pleaaassee?" the thought of those wild-beasts was quickly left elsewhere. Sagan had better things to do than to let those predators of the forest get on his nerves. He was more curious to see what Alvah had learned. There had been many things the two of them had gone over. He had tried desperately to cram as many spells as he could into the little boy's brain, though the dragon knew well enough that somebody so young wouldn't have been able to remember all of that in such a short period of time. Previously the dragon had been desperate to teach him swiftly. But, that desperation had subsided into something of patience.

"Go ahead." he'd watch him carefully. Alvah took a few more steps back and grinned widely. His eyes would close shut briefly, taking in a deep breath before speaking once again. The spell was something familiar. One of the more basics ones though something that was considered the most powerful of them all. Sparks of electricity brief rose upon his form as a hurdle of it spewed out from his mouth. Sagan was struck right in the face, though it wasn't something powerful enough to harm nor force him back. He coughed slightly, recognizing the taste as Alvah stood there proudly. Despite the fact he had just struck his mentor centre in the face.

"I told you I could do it! Wasn't that cool, Sagan?" at his excitement the dragon chuckled deeply, shaking the smoke off from his face that had been evoked by Alvah's spell only moments ago. His large body stirred as he stood upward, now peering further down on the child with a hint of amusement casted in those intimidating eyes.

"Yes... though that isn't enough to slay a dragon." Sagan neck craned backwards, large crown facing the sky above. He took in a sudden breath before a tremendous amount of power erupted from his mouth. Alvah stumbled backwards, watching as lightning and wind tore violently into the skies above, creating a hole in one of the many clouds that scattered about. It was powerful enough that it barely shook the land. A part of the boy was glad that the forest hadn't been used as an example for Sagan's frightening capabilities. He could only blink in complete surprise as the torrent of that spell faded into the air. "One day you will be able to do that." he'd mention just after, a barely visible grin traced across the dragon's features.

"R-Really?" Alvah would stand back up, there was a sudden sorrow in his eyes as he'd peer up at the beautiful creature before him, "B-But, Sagan... I don't want to slay a dragon." his voice was quiet though the one before him heard it all. He'd lower his crown towards Alvah, nudging him gently again. The boy was almost tempted to cry, but held himself together, wanting to seem strong before his mentor after all those times when he had acted so weak and frail. Impressing Sagan was a wonderful thing, but he didn't think he could do it if it meant killing a dragon. To Alvah, dragons were kind and gentle beings, just like the one before him.

"It is something all students of the dragons must do one day." Sagan said in a soft tone, his voice still somewhat loud and audible to those that watched from afar, "It is something that causes you to grow more powerful later on in the future. To slay a dragon is a great achievement." he spoke only of the truth. As much as dragons disliked this, they knew that most humans took admiration in those that were powerful enough to defeat a dragon. After all the reptiles of the skies or of the land were godly beings. Alvah merely clung onto the nose of Sagan, as if not wanting to let go. Deep down the dragon wished this moment could last forever.

    TWO YEARS LATER

It is raining again. At some point the dragon and even Alvah have started to dislike the rain. On days like these they would stay huddled together in some makeshift cave or under the large willow that rested within the forest. They'd tell stories, sing melodies and then often drift off into brief slumbers that seemed to satisfy their boredom. Sometimes even the birds would join them, chirping away as they'd curiously hop and flutter forward. Thankfully tiny birds were not enough to fill the stomach of Sagan, so he often left them alone as they would huddle atop of his head and across his stilled wings.

But, today is different. The two of them are not huddled together, nor speaking and singing aimless songs. Humans have discovered their location, and the pair now settle at the edge of the forest as the men search for them in a frightening excitement. Sagan is worried, but for some reason he does not attack the humans that ravage into the once harmonious land. His love for them is much to great to kill them without hesitation. Instead he turns towards Alvah. It has been two years once more and the boy is taller, his hair longer. He is dirty and trying to catch his breath. A pang greets the dragon's heart as he begins to speak.

"Alvah, kill me." the words shock the boy. He faces the dragon whom is peering down on him with a genuine expression. For a moment he thinks he had heard his mentor wrong, but those large eyes tell him otherwise. "Kill me, and they won't harm you... you'll be safe, but not if they find you with me still alive." his explanation does not help. He falls into silence and dragon frowns slightly in frustration, "Alvah!" the falling of feet grow louder in the distance, the men coming closer and closer.

Tears slip from the young boy's eyes, the sounds of sobbing quietly breaking past his lips. "N-No...!" - he couldn't do such a thing. He wouldn't do such a thing. It could be anybody else, just not Sagan! The thought of losing the only family he had left and by his hands, would haunt him for the rest of his life. The dragon let out a low growl, one that had surprisingly frightened him. There was a sudden predatory look in the eyes of Sagan, he took a few steps back as the dragon bared his teeth.

"If you don't... then I'll just have to eat you..." his tone had also changed, Alvah was suddenly afraid. More afraid of the men that were gradually coming closer and closer within the crowded forest. "Since you're a failure of a student. I can't have anyone knowing you even existed." Alvah's stumbled backwards as the dragon stalked towards him. He was still crying, the rain numbing his flesh as he stood back to his feet. It was like a nightmare was happening. His only family was going to eat him. Alvah clenched his small hands together at each side, knowing deep down inside that Sagan was doing this on purpose.

"S-Storm dragon..." electrify rose upon his form in small flickers of light, Sagan secretly smiled before the child could see. A power unlike before lingered from him. One that was much more impressive than the day he had been merely brushed by such an attack. Alvah took in a breath, trying to calm himself before speaking the last word to this spell. For the longest time he hesitated, and then, it came out in a whisper. A bright light throttled into the direction of Sagan, illuminating the entire area as something whispered into his ears. "Good boy, Alvah... I'm truly proud of you... thank you." as the light grew and grew, it eventually started to fade. The young blonde falling into darkness as he'd descend against the wet ground. Memories forgotten.

    Saphyra - Sky Dragon Slayer

    Character Name: Saphyra Skysong

The daylight was at mid set along the green plains. A perfect, unobstructed valley perfect for training wind magics. Clouds rolling across the sky with the gentle breeze pushing them along.

Sevaria, a sky dragon, had taken a young Saphyra under her wing at a very young age, and the student was more than promising. Dear little Saphyra had picked up her magic within mere months of training; her strong suit was in the healing aspects. The little one had much, much more training and learning to do however. It was definitely not a regrettable decision.

The dragon's footsteps heavy as they walked along one another, Saphyra was skipping through the medium length grass tickling at her legs with the large dragon in tow. As they reached their usual spot the little one would get on all fours, making her best dragon impression of a roar at her mentor with a waggling tail.

"Dear child, stop that lest you let loose your magic and injure your mentor. We will begin shortly, just as usual. Today you learn to defend yourself and others with more offensive spells." Sevaria spoke, her voice soft for one of her size, settling down into the field in her usual spot. The dragon yawns before pointing with a claw at a boulder.

"You will learn to roar as I do, the winds spewing from your mouth to blow your enemies away. Eat the air as I taught for power, and channel it to your lungs. Your very own breath resides there, and it is the place of power for this feat. Summon the wind to your call, and let your breath defy the heavens." Sevaria spoke. Craning her neck, she drew in a breath. Channeling her might to her lungs she let loose a Sky Dragon's Roar; a nasty directional tempest piercing the sky.

Saphyra nodded, facing the rock at which was her foe today. The young girl took a breath in. Holding it, building up all the might she had into her lungs. "Sky Dragon ARRIIIIAAAAA!" She exclaims loudly, bellowing with a smaller gale into the face of the rock. However, it was magnitudes under her mentors power.

"Excellent, your grasp on the wind is nearly prodigal. However, you merely just gave your enemy a pleasant breeze through the hair. Continue practicing this for today." The dragon spoke, curling up. In her old age the kind dragon would often rest, unless Saphyra had any questions. Life was taking its toll on the powerful being.

    Hours pass...

"Sky Dragon's... ARIIAAAA!" And, for the nearly fiftieth time today the girl roars with all her might. This time however the gale picked up. Her magical energy radiating through her breath as the boulder finally takes a devastating hit, cracking at the surface. "Sevaria I DID IT! Look look!" She squealed loudly. Scampering over the youngling pushed and tried to lift her dragon's nose.

The dragon's large blue eyes flickered open. Raising her head, Sevaria inspected the boulder. It most definitely looked cracked, and the little one's roar had to be the culprit. "Good. Care to show me now that I'm awake?" She rumbled.

The young slayer more than happily got into position. Legs spread in balance, drawing in the air to fuel herself. Hopefully this would be the last; her power was nearly dry and she was tired. Building pressure up in her lungs the girl roared once more, her slicing wind destroying the boulder in an explosion of dust and debris.

    Years pass...

Spiraling down through the air, Saphy aimed a kick right for her mentor's exposed belly. The timing should have been perfect, however a gust from a wing sent the girl careening back. Her own wings flared to balance herself. Bursting forward she dodged a spiraling Sky Dragon Aria, and swooped in with a Sky Dragon Claw onto her mentors head. The dragon bellowed as it was hit, mockingly as it was surely not effective. A tail swung under Sevaria, smacking the girl in the back and sending her over the dragons shoulder. Craning her neck around Sevaria fired another aria at her apprentice. The half-dragon swerved midair and sent an Aria back, both colliding and trying to out-power the other. Obviously stronger the dragon's roar broke free and smacked Saphyra out of the sky. Beating her wings to stop a fatal fall the girl landed in the grassy plains, on her back panting for breath.

"Okay, okay I give up, ugh!" The now fourteen year old slayer groans, ending the battle. These sparring matches were more common than their healing lessons now-a-days. Sevaria said that while healing was her most important skills, this world is sadly taken by dark forces and fighting must be practiced rigorously. It was two fighting sessions per healing session, albeit Saphyra already showing her mastery in healing. "Can we stop for today? My heads spinning like a tornado." She pleads. The battle had lasted for over two hours.

"Yes yes child. We may stop for today. I am impressed, you're growing rapidly. Remember to practice your forms; even with spells you cannot yet cast." Sevaria spoke, for the millionth time. Though, that kind of information was meant to stick into ones head for their entire life.

The girl just nods, staring into the blue ocean of the heavens. It was sad to know out in the real world, there were terrible people abusing the freedom to wreak havoc in the world. In the sky Saphyra felt like no one could touch her, nothing was restricted other than her altitude ceiling. "Master, why did you chose me?"

Sevaria coughed as much as a dragon could. "I couldn't let a child alone in the world fending for herself. You showed great promise and love for the sky. When I first met you, I remember you telling me how much you wished to fly, with your brittle and weak little wings. Look at you now, you fly as if you control the skies and revel in the freedom. Not to mention a wonderful songstress. I enjoy your singing whilst we fly together."

"Is that why you call me Skysong?" Saphyra asked rhetorically. She did in fact enjoy singing; though most of it was made up songs on the spot or about her mentor. Happy with her mentor dodging the question with compliments, she thought nothing of it.

"Yes, that is why. You are the aria resonating through my heavens." Sevaria replied with much warmth.

    Months pass...

She couldn't be gone. It wasn't right; there she was every day, curled up in their den. Not even a note left behind. Only chips of old white scales and Saphyra's belongings that she'd received from a deceased father. Saphyra scoured the cave for any traces of a note, a letter, something. None was found. Bursting into tears the girl began to pack her backpack, storming out of the cave. The day was engulfed in a gray sheet of cloud, heavy rain pouring down. Lightning and thunder threatened any who'd join in their skies. Unable to fly the girl screamed her mentors name to the cloudy heavens in vain. Hours pass as the girl trudged on through the valleys. It wasn't real, none of this was real. It had to be a dream. Realization eventually hit the girl in the heart. Breaking down, crying for her mentor to return as her gaze set on a nearby town, one she'd only ventured into several times...

    Character Name: Onyx Morello
    Rank: D
    Guild: Nightmare Incarnate
    Slayer: Evil God Slayer
    RP Sample:
    Again, too lazy to color:
Onyx was only a kid and it was only a rumor. The people of his small little village were said to be a cult, worshiping the dark god Erebus. Recently there was a rumor going around that their god had touched down on their realm, claiming the nearby forest as it's placed to stay. Being the dumb child that he was he decided to go and find said, god.

He didn't do this because it was his own idea. He and the other children had decided to draw sticks on who should venture into the forest to go find Erebus. The adults were heavily against their idea, telling them that it wasn't true and they shouldn't go by themselves. But they never listened to them, they were kids. Unfortunately, Onyx ended up with the shortest straw and the other kids watched as he went into the forest.

It was foggy and dark when he entered, a full moon was out. This was partly the reason why he even agreed to go out to the forest in the first place, with tonight being the night of a transformation. He was able to control it but on full moons it's inevitable. He slowly trudges along the forest, his transformation kicking in as fangs and fur begin to form, as he suddenly sees a small cloaked figure walking towards him.

Frozen in fear, he watches as the finger comes closer to him and eventually is in arm's reach. It lifts up what seems to be its arm, and a black shadowy hand appears from the area. It rubs across his cheek, now covered in fur, and it quickly pulls back.

"What are you?" Onyx asked in his high-pitched voice. It was currently higher than normal, currently escalated by the fear of the unknown.

"Child.... I could ask you the same question. As for who, I am known by you mortals as Erebus. You are currently in my domain, son. May I ask why?" The voice was very soft but raspy, similar to the screeching of swords slowly grinding against each other. Each word sent a chill down Onyx's back, giving his instincts a sense of danger. Surprisingly, Erebus was quite open with his name. Onyx expected his god to be wrathful but was actually very nice.

Onyx started to relax, first letting his shoulder drop, following that was his breathing beginning to settle. "I'm what they call a 'Lycanthrope'. Though the people of my village call us the Night Children." Another hand reached into the hood of the cloak and look as if it was making stroking motions.

"My child, Nyx, is the night. She must take high liking of you, to bless you with such a form. You boy..... You interest me. Where are your parents? I would lover to bless them also."

"I-I don't have any parents. They were sacrificed to you while I was still a baby." He looks down at the ground, trying to keep himself from crying. He remembers that day vividly; his parents were dragged away by a mob. His mother was accused of the dark arts and his father a heretic. They were both locked away in a dark room, starved to death.

"Ah. Tis a shame. Let me see if I remember them...." Erebus takes his hands and forms what looks to be Onyx's parents. Onyx looks up to see them, but can barely make out who they are. "You're blinded by the light child. Let me take you in under my wing, and teach you the ways of the gods."

Onyx replied with a single nod.

    Skip forward a few days

"Alright. Today I'll be teaching you a few basic spells. First off is the Bellow." Erebus said to a young Onyx. He turned and took a large breath, releasing out a torrent of shadows. Onyx stared in astonishment. He's never seen magic in his life, so he was eager to learn from Erebus.

"This spell is very simple. Combine your breath with some of your magic power and out comes the Evil God's Bellow."

"Evil god? Your not that bad Erebus. Your a little scary, but not evil." Erebus stared at Onyx for a short time and let out a chuckle.

"You know not what I've done child."

    Skip forward 8 years

Today was Onyx's birthday, his 13th. He and Erebus have gotten along well for the past 8 years. Their contract was that if Onyx taught Erebus of his world, Erebus would teach him magic. Currently Onyx was running an errand for Erebus. Over the years Erebus had gotten weak and required medicine to keep him alive. Onyx was able to find a certain doctor that was able to take care of Erebus and supplied them with various herbs that would work on him.

When Onyx arrived, the person was waiting at the door.

"Onyx. I was expecting you to come today, how's your old man holding up?" At the door was a middle aged woman with big round glasses and blonde pigtails. She was their said doctor and, because of her personality, she doesn't get much business.

"No duh, Perona. We sent you a letter beforehand. Also, if he was doing well I wouldn't be here." He chuckled as he walked past her into her little shack. Perona was only so nice to Onyx for two reasons: She had a huge crush on him even though she's like years out of his league and because she was a god slayer like him. She was a Holy God slayer, but only by Lacrima.

"S-Shut up." She looks off to the side as she follows him into her shack. She travels to the back and comes out with a bottle full of black leaves. "One pound of Blighted Leaves from the Tree of Life. Some really rare stuff." She hands it over to him willingly as he takes it.

    "Hey, Perona. Let's spar."

"W-what?! You know you're gonna win, right?"

"Yeah yeah. But Erebus has gotten old and fragile, he's not able to spar anymore. Whaddya say?" She replied with a light nod, face as red as an apple.

They both walk outside to in front of her shack, which harbored a small clearing. It was just large enough to hold a fight without them destroying her shack. Without warning, Onyx threw a fist encased in shadows at Perona. She countered with a shield of black light and slid back. She then took in a deep breath of air and released a ray of black light from her mouth. To dodge this, Onyx became one with the shadows, slithering his way towards Perona and as he got close he lunged up at her and engulfed the area around them in darkness. She then began to emit light from her body but was just quick enough to see Onyx firing his bellow at her from point blank range.

The shroud dissipates as Onyx starts to walk away from her. "You're a doctor, you can patch yourself up."

Though when Onyx arrived back at his home, he returned to an empty cloak full of black dust. Erebus was no more.

    Spoiler:

“I don’t understand grandfather, what does this mean?” A younger owl would look into the face of the old man before flying to his shoulder. “Mori, now now, you aren’t a child anymore. You are among family, stand tall…” Obeying his command, Morihiro would turn back into his human form and look at his grandfather with a frown.  But where do I have to go? “ The old man would rub his glasses and then pat Mori on the head from his sitting position. Young child, you have been chosen by Naga to become his kalki, you have been telling me for the longest that you haven’t been able to see your spirit animal when you accessed the path, correct? “ Mori shook his head. “ No, I have been seeing other animals as of late, leading me deep into the Forrest. Even when I turn off the pathway sight, sometimes I can still feel that presence drawing me. “ The old man laughed a bit as he grabbed a medium sized coat for Mori. “ You know what it means to be of the wild hunt, to  trust the sight due  to the fact that your spirit animal will lead you to your true place in life. Why do you think you was never prompted to leave? We all have different path’s in life, but you weren’t meant to leave. Not yet……” Mori opened the door and turned on the sight once more, perceiving the path. A panther was in the distance, prompting him to follow.

“Go, Mori, he calls to you, our great ancestor. “ Mori ventured into the Forrest that day, not knowing what awaited him. What was he to expect? He was only 13 years of age after all, even his animal transformation was that of a baby owl. “….”Mori was nervous as he was drawn closer to the force that beckoned him in such a manner. “Closer, my child….” Further ahead was a black mass, constantly shifting from animal to animal as Mori blinked his eyes. “Naga?! You…you’re real?” Naga transformed into a lion and  laughed. “Hahah, why wouldn’t I be real? You all come from me and human DNA after all.” He looked evil, but he was kind, he felt kind. It was one of those moments where someone was cursed with a terrible predicament, but the situation they were in was nowhere in comparison to the individual’s true nature. “I’m sorry to ask this, but why did you call me here?” Naga turned into a squirrel and crawled over to Mori, who left his hand down so that the squirrel can climb up. “Listen kid, something is going to happen soon,  and I need someone to fight in my stead. Seeing me has nothing to do with anything, I show myself when needed, I’m fully capable of hiding my presence. However, your sight of the path can lead yourself to me, as well as other things, regardless if they try to try to hide. Your path sight, is not centralized only among yourself. Therefore, you have the potential to be my Kalki. “

There it is again, that strange word. “ What does that mean? What’s a Kalki?” The squirrel then jumped up and turned into a giraffe with an abnormally long neck, lifting Mori by the collar so that he can see all around him. “Become the destroyer of ignorance, destroyer of filth, destroyer of darkness. I choose you, Morihiro, to become my GODSLAYER!!

    And so..his training began

    Three years later.

Comeon kid, the worlds not going to wait on you. Three years and you’re still on the basics? “ Morihiro’s path sight always allowed him to see and interact with Naga on a much higher level, which allowed for the chance to train and become the potential god slayer of evil (shadow). The training was quite strenuous, it would leave Mori passed out every now and again. But he was training fro three years, and slowly showed progress. “Channel the shadows of the area, darkness cant just be your enemy, it’s also your ally. “ Slowly but surely, everything that was casting a shadow was losing its form, and shifted away over to the side of Mori. “Now release!!” Mori created a bow and arrow, taking aim before firing. “War arrow of the Shadow god slayer!!” The release of the arrow’s powerful magic was amazing, creating a gust of wind and energy upon firing. However, the shock was pretty tough, Mori was also blown back. “Tch…”  Naga transformed into an orangutan and shook his head. “Come-on now, keep yourself rooted when you channel the energy.  Remember the basics, it’s the same as oxygen. From within and out of your body. “Naga’s breathing technique, the only thing that Mori managed to master, the generation of the shadow’s evil energy and bending it to his will. “Let’s try it, generate the energy, center it around yourself, be numb to its influence and deny the power’s lust. To be my kalki means to deny temptation that leads you astray.

The energy was constantly flowing, Owlman’s shadow took on a ghastly form. “Yes, there… now ..can you absorb properly?” Naga fired a blast of shadow magic at owl man, who still had his eyes closed. However, he was calm, and seemingly devoured the energy. “Cough cough…”  Owlman took a knee and the prime ape rolled over and smacked him upside the head. “I knew you wasn’t a prodigy, but this is taking longer than expected kid. “ However, Morihiro had the eyes of a man who wouldn’t give up. “As long as it takes….” Naga smiled and transformed into a humming bird. “Alright, lets continue.”

    Three years more… 19 graduation.

Ready kid? I wont hold back!! Just one round!!” Mori and  Naga was facing off one last time, with naga taking the form not one, but many tigers with shifting shadow like forms . “CARVORNEOUS TRIBE OF THE EVIL GOD SLAYER!! Can you stand my horde?! Mori took a deep breath as he laughed. “Comeon then, Tough Claws of the evil god slayer!!!!” The blood lust was in his eyes as the tigers came at him one after another! “Swipe, swipe, crash!”  Two big swipes of black energy managed to get about six shadow tigers, that puffed up in smoke. However, one of the tigers came along and made a powerful scratch on Mori’s chest.  The shedding of blood actually helped though, it made Mori “Beast out”  Heh?! So you’re going for it?!!” Mori transformed into an owl and  soared into the air  at the impressive speed of 40 mph before spiraling down and transforming back into human form. His eyes maintained the bestial glance as he used his next spell, pulling shadow energy from the area and utilizing his own. “FALLING STAR OF THE EVIL GOD SLAYER!!”  He dropped, and there was a bang, creating a dome of black energy that spread out, wiping out all of the tiger clones and actually managing to damage Naga a bit. “Ahh, you scratched me this time........good..."

Mori could hardly stand after that burst, but Naga called the fight off. “You passed kid… you…  that was an impressive move, using your magic with your transformation.  You could of used the path with small hints of help, but this will due.” Mori sat down and passed out in a sitting position. “Morihiro…my Kalki………..

Fire Dragon Slayer spot is open again, due to the person going inactive

    Guild:Twilight Dragon
    Slayer:Storm God
    RP Sample:
    Spoiler:
This story begins on the morning of June 7th, which is the 5th anniversary of Kotetsu's birthday. The location was a humble fisherman's shack on the coast of the Alvarez Nation. The weather was partly cloudy with minute sunshine and a calming, cool breeze. It was a glorious morning, figuratively and literally. Mainly because is it was the day the young Demi-God was supposed to begin his training to learn the Storm God Slayer magic, and to top it off, it was his own father who would be teaching him.

As the sun began to rise in the east, it's rays of light peered and peaked through the scattered clouds and found its way through the window. The light illuminated Kotetsu's face, while radiating against his palish skin. Which in turn forced the young boy to slowly and drowsily wake up. As he sat up, the young Demi-God let off a loud yawn while simultaneously extending his arms out to stretch. The smell of salt in the air was thick yet enjoyable to him, as he took in a deep and relaxing breath. Just as he was began to exhale, his eyes opened real big at the rememberance of his plans today. Plans in which was devised to be spent training the Storm God Slayer Magic his father knew.

As the thought faded, his mischievous and childish grin did not. Due to the fact that his training was to begin today, Kotetsu was beyond animated and enthusiastic. So after jumping to his feet, the juvenile Demi-God made his bed and rolled up the mat. Afterwards he then placed it up against the wall before swiftly bolting for the door and heading to the ocean's beach.

Upon reaching the shore, Kotetsu's father was already there waiting. He had a string of fish in one hand and a spear in the other. "Good morning Ko." His father said, greeting him before asking, "How did you sleep?". A warm and comforting smile was draped across his face due to the infectiousness of a giddy smile from a small child.

Nearly before his father was able to get his last words in, Kotetsu blurted out. "Goodmorning father!" Without hesitation in his voice, he continued. "So are we still starting my official training today?!?" The young Demi god was barely able to contain his excitement at this point, and it clearly showed on his face.

"Yes, as I promised, we will officially begin today. Once hearing those words, it was impossible to withhold his delight and excitement. "Yay!" The young boy shrieked, as he ran up and down the sandy shore. "But you know what's first." Stated Anshar, his father, as he gripped Kotetsu's shoulder and prevented him from running around more.

Upon hearing his father's words, Kotetsu's expression faded slightly but not completely as he dropped down and began performing push ups. During this exercise, Anshar kept lecturing him. "Remember son, the storm god slayer magic is one of the most dangerous of the slayer magics. Mainly because it takes focus, balance, and unity to perform it. If not done right, the repercussions can be devastating. All the while his father is talking, the Demi god continues to do his pushups. After reaching fifty regular press pushups, he switches to wide stance pushups. "Yes sir. He replied, as his face shown the lack of enthusiasm, but instead, displayed pure calmness and seriousness.

Once done with that, he then transitions into diamond pushups. "Remember, you are special and unique. You have the blood of the gods flowing through you. By now, Kotetsu was drawing near to the end of the set of pushups.Which seemed like the closer he got, the worse his arms began to burn from straining. "It is that blood that allows you to learn this magic, for no mortal man or female can learn or use this due to the immense strain placed on the body."

Following the push-ups, the juvenile instantly rolled over onto his back and was panting slightly. He already knew what was next, crunches and sit ups. Before starting the exercises, Kotetsu paused and asked his father, "If i have the blood of the gods, then why do I need to train?" After hearing the question, is father couldn't help but faintly laugh. "Well my boy," Anshar paused briefly to contemplate an answer."It is to increase your overall abilities. Training your body increases your stamina, strength, speed, and reflexes."

"But still.." Kotetsu attempted to retort while performing crunches, but Anshar quickly interjected. "Still even a Demi god needs to train in order to handle this magic. Would I ever lead you astray my son? As he finished up the exercise, he continued on with the next. "Never." Answered the boy, somewhat out of breath as he completed his sit ups.

Without hesitation, he sprung to his feet the best he could and made his way over to set on a flat stone. Which was just big enough for him to sit with his legs folded in cross-legged. Following the demi-god, Anshar circled around and in front of him. "Now, you are going to be mediating, although it will be somewhat different." The father spoke, followed by Kotetsu, "Huh?" A faint smile shown across hthe God's face as he knelt down and drew a triquetra in the sand.

Before they began, Anshar began pointing at the tips individually. "You already know, lightning, water, and wind. These are the three basic elements for storm magic." Then he pointed at the next biggest slots. "These represent you drawing in or manifesting the individual elements in their rawest form, which you already know about.

Standing up, he continued while pointing at the last outside marks."These are a representation of the individual elements being used in pairs or merging to make a more advanced ability. Holding both hands out with palm side up, Anshar generated a puddle of water in one and a spiral of wind in the other. Then slowly closing his hands together, the elements began to change into that of a spiraling cloud around his hands and forearms.

Then all of a sudden, the swirling cloud dissipated just as quick as it appeared. In that moment, the young boy was overcome with giddy anticipation at the thought of learning that. Although he sat still, his excitement couldn't help but to be plastered across his face. "When will I learn that!? His father let out a chuckle as he replied, "In time, young one, in time.

Anshar then pointed to the middle point. "This one represents you and the combining of all three elements to form true storm magic. Now I want you to meditate just as we used to. You should be able to push out most distractions while focusing on each element singularly. Pausing briefly to place a hand on Kotetsu's shoulder before continuing. "Now I want you to manifest each element into your hands seperately while meditating. Once you have that down, we will move onto mixing them." Anshar mentioned the second task as to encourage the young boy. Before walking off, the storm god used his magic to produce a moderate size thunderstorm over head. "Now it will get worse with time!" He shouted, and even though the storm was already booming with crackling lightning, howling winds, and drenching rain; it sounded as if his words thundered louder than the storm itself.

As the storm beat down on the young boy, he seemed unaffected by the weather. Instead he sat there as usual meditating with his palms overlapped and faced up. This part was nothing new to him he was used to meditating while focusing on his magical abilities while molding them into the respected elements. Although he hasn't always beens spot on when manifesting them.

He did this everyday, from dawn to dusk, for 12 long months up until his sixth birthday. Each week the storm intensifying drastically, while sporadically switching from freezing rain to chunks of hail and howling winds to blistering winds that would grind particles of sand against his skin. He learned how to meld two elements together somewhat easily, but it wasn't until the final couple months of this training, did he successfully learn to successfully amalgamate the three elements to form the storm element.

After able to generate and manipulate the storm magic into his hands, not his forearms, he continued to train the technique. Little did he know, this was already the first magic ability to be learned when it came to the storm god slayer. It original name was Reijingusutōmu, or Raging Storm. It embodied the destructive force of water and wind into a single fist or a double handed strike, although he was unaware of all of this. Well, until his father finally felt it time to reveal it to his son. Once doing so, Kotetsu was ecstatic and trained solely on this technique for the next sixth months until comfortable consecutively using the technique.

After finishing the Reijingusutōmu training his father decided it was time to learn how to eat his respective element of the three basics. It would be on the same beach that they stood, as to where he would learn the technique. "Now it's time to learn what element, of the three, that can be consumed with no drawbacks. Unfortunately, well will need to test them all before deciding." Ashnar was partly hesitant to teach his son this but knew it necessary. "I will individually send magic of the respective elements at you. Focus as if you were meditating, but instead of absorbing the magic through your entire body, focus on your lungs and stomach. Inhale with your whole body while melding the magic with yours, but be ready for some negative consequences.

Anshar moved twenty yards ahead of the young Demi and got into and offensive stance. "Are you ready my boy? Squaring his feet in a defensive and more balanced stance he replied confidentially, "Yes, Father. This doesn't sound to hard." Upon answering, Anshar used his magic to send a burst of wind at Kotetsu. Which in turn, sent him skidding backwards a few feet while attempting to contain and consume the magic. Although the ability overpowered him, he was able to down a portion of it before being sent to his butt. When he tried to hop to his feet, his vision momentarily blurred as he stumbled back and forth. The inhalation or ingesting of thewind magic caused him mild vertigo and shortness of and restricted breaths.

The same process was used on the other two elements of water and lightning to determine their individual effects. After the trials, it was apparent as to which element was meant for him to consume. That element was lightning, which might have seemed odd, seeing as it can be the most dangerous of the three. Which is why Anshar was reluctant to attempt that element from the beginning. The element, water caused him to feel nauseous and sea sick; while lightning felt as if it energized his body and magic energy. His father also taught him how to consume storm magic as a whole but it was much harder and thus required double the time to learn.

After four months of basic element consuming and eight months to perfect the storm consumption; he was seven and a half and his father thought it was time to learn more advanced techniques. One such as the Tengoku no Supuritta, or Splitter of heaven. Which is a variation of the Raging Storm, except includes a purplish black lightning surging through it. It also covers the users hands and forearms. The user can use this technique from ground level which just delivers the force of the first with an added paralysing surge. Although to receive its maximum effect, they jump above the enemy and thrust down with the tips of their fingers, or using the leaped style fist. Upon impact the electricity discharges, not into the person, but into the air, which in turn calls down a devastating lightning strike. Being that this technique was just a variation of the prior one, it was relatively simple for him to learn, and quickly became one of his favorites.

After four months of messing with his new magic ability, it was time to move on to the next. The demi-god seemed wiser and calmer then once he first begun, due to the fact of his father drilling the necessity of balance, unity, and absolution into his head. Although calmer on the outside, he was still as giddy and animated as he was the first day of training, the first time seeing his father perform the technique, or even the first time he successfully performed it himself. It was truly amazing at how quickly he began to excel in learning the storm god magic, once learning the fundamentals.

After that came the Arashi no kamigami berōzu, or Storm God's Bellow. This technique wasn't much different than the previous ones, other than the storm magic be continuously expelled from the mouth instead of the hands. Even though this seemed like it wouldnt be to much work to learn, it took the Demi god a full 10 long months to complete it's training. It was so tough at one point that he even questioned his own resolve in wanting to learn the celestial magic, but was soon shook from his mind one day when having a breakthrough on his ninth birthday.

It wasn't long until it was time for Kotetsu to learn the Tenpesuto-shin susanō, or Tempest God's Susanoo. This technique was not the easiest yet not the hardest. Being as it required a certain amount of magic to perform, depending on the size of the attack. It only took him sixth more months in order to learn and obtain this ability, which he finished when he was about nine and a half, but continued to train for the next six more months.

On the juvenile's tenth birthday, he decided it was time to test his progress through live combat. Which he requested his father to be his sparring partner. They were positioned on the beach about twenty five yards from eachother with a mild storm looming overhead. Although yet to shed it's rain, the clouds radiated with lightning faintly flashing in the distance. "Are you sure you are ready son? Anshar inquired motioned for Kotetsu to make the first move. "Yes, let's begin" As he finished his words, the boy propelled himself headlong at his father. Upon growing close, a tyrian purple colored magic circle appeared in front of a clenched right fist. It seemed like in an instant, a cloud appeared around his fist in which began to rotate and spin faster. The wind's velocity began to pick up around the hand, creating a howling effect as it furiously thrashed about.

A smile brightly shown upon his father's face at the sight of the progression his son made. Which in turn, almost left himself unguarded when Kotetsu swung the overhand right. "Raging Storm!" The demi-god exclaimed when in striking distance. Anshar quickly threw up his hand as to side swipe the forearm seeing as it was unconcerned from the magic. This allowed the God to redirect Kotetsu's energy off to his left and downwards. The result caused the attack to impact the moist sand floor, but as it did, the resulting transfer of energy caused a small one foot crater due to the rapid moving water particles.

In return the god kneed Kotetsu before kicking him back to his starting position. "If that is the best you have then we should just give up."Anshar taunted while secretly impressed with the raw power the boy generated. The god himself used a weaker version of his Storm god's bellow, which was soon swallowed rather easily by Kotetsu. "Not even close." He stated with a serious tone while having a youthful and mischievous grin. Focusing on his body, the boy took a few deep breaths. In and out, in and out, he did this a few more times and with each breath, the weather began to worsen. The winds went from a strong breeze to a howling gale, the rain began to fall moderately while the sound of thunder and lightning drew nigh. With a final breath, the demi-god let out his own Storm God bellow, which was stronger than the one sent by his father. "Storm God's Bellow!

After launching the attack, he noticed his father rolled to the left, on top of the meditating stone, in order to dodge it. So in response, Kotetsu quickly thrusted himself into the air and above his crouching father. As he descended, another magic circle briefly appeared over his right forearm and hand before being surrounded by a greyish black cyclone with purplish black lightning streaking through it. Once forming on his arm, Kotetsu slammed his leapord style fist down towards his father. "Splitter Of Heavens" Here his father was caught off guard, to the point he needed to use another magic ability called Storm surge. Which amplified his reflexes and speed with wind and lightning magic. This gave him just enough of an edge to once again, barely dodge the attack. Upon impact with the meditation stone, it barely cracked while the lightning discharged from the arm and into the atmosphere. In return a lightning bolt crashed from the sky and onto the stone as well, effectively reducing it to gravel. Still eager to continue, Kotetsu turned to his father as a bigger magic circle flashed in front of him before fading away. He attempted to use the Storm God's Susanoo but failed due to lack of magical energy and fell to one knee exhausted. The fight was short yet taxing on the demi-god, as he was still just a child. Anshar called it a night and they went off to bed.

The next day his father greeted him, not with a raging storm but with a warming smile and comforting hug. "I am proud of you my son. I have taught you all that I really can, for your storm magic will not be the same as mine. It is as unpredictable as the caster themselves and requires their own style to maximize it's effectiveness. You may not see it not but you are unique in your own way and will eventually reveal it for yourself. Train hard, raise your prowess, and never be influenced by outside forces." With that his father pulled back from the hug and revealed a tear streaming down his face. "Please don't cry father." The demi-god pleaded as his emotions began to stir as well. In a quick motion, Anshar wiped the tear away as well as pick up his son and head towards the fisherman's shack. "Tonight, we celebrate." "What's the reason father?" The demi-god inquired, which in return his father retorted. "For it is a glorious day, one in which you have completed the basic knowledge for the Storm God Slayer. From now on, your path and magic is to be destined by you and only you. Never forget that anything is possible with persistence and determination, and finally never disrupt or disturb your own moral standing for anyone else." With that the story draws to a close as they retireto the shack and celebrate for the rest of the night.

    Spoiler:
One would be able to see as Solomon tossed in turned in his bed, the sweat beading from his head and body beginning to soak the bed, he was imaging himself with blood soaked hands and looking around the room seeing many book shelves and tables. It was a library, he could tell that after a moment but then coming into his sight beginning as a blur were bodies that covered the floor.  One of which he stood over now holding his heart in his hand he would immediately drop it and watch as it fell and rolled away from him on the floor. Then looking back he would see an old man, probably in his late eighties, a hole in his chest where his heart use to be, he eyes would focus on the mans face however, the elderly man still held a face of being terrified, the eye's looked as if they were moist as if a tear was just about to crawl down his face. He would notice the different wrinkles on his forehead and checks and Solomon would begin to panic, he would attempt to run away however he would just come back to the same room and the bodies would begin to blur in once more, however before they fully appeared he would then awaken.

Breathing in heavily as he sat up in bed, he could feel the moist sheets from his sweat with his hands that held him up. After taking a moment he would then look to his left and see Helious staring at him from the table, "Nightmare about your first kill again?" he would ask Solomon, however Solomon would just lay back down in bed and stare at the ceiling. Helious would stand and pick up his chair and bring it to the bedside of Solomon, "This will pass with more kills, I know it sounds odd however that is how it works with this type of profession.... however what you need to remember most, we only kill those who deserve death." He would say this as he patted on Solomon's head to make sure that he was listening to him. "However get up, you will not wish to sleep in that stench, we will get you some new sheets then you shall sleep well ... you will need to as tomorrow night you will be training with me." Solomon would just nod as he stood up and began to strip the bed, and as Helious grabbed new sheets Solomon would ask him, "Why do we always do our training at night Hel?" He would laugh slightly as he walked over with the new sheets and as he tucked them on he would look to Solomon, "Well if anyone was Mentoring you they would want to do it at night because they wouldn't wish to be seen with you." he would say however realizing as it came out much different than he expected he would say, "Really it is just because we do not wish for others to learn from us."

The next morning would come and Solomon would awake to a empty place as Helious was already gone for work, which is was how it usually ended up. Solomon would start by getting dressed and then make his way to the cooler opening it he would find it empty, however the glimpsing over to the cooker he would see that Helious had left him some eggs. After having something in his belly he would then head over to the club himself, he would see the regular girls that would work that shift as he first walked in and also the regular men that ogled them. Passing by them with just a wave to the girls he would make his went to one of the booths that the others usually claimed for themselves. "Wah?" He would say as he saw the booth empty, he was surprised as they were almost always there are at least someone waiting for the rest. However with a shrug he would wave once more to the women on the way out, "I guess I will have this as a personal day." These days did not come by often however he knew immediately what he wished to do, it would take him some time however but he would travel to the nearest park, this was at least a hour walk away. Upon arriving he would look to his usual spot, just a tree in the middle of the park which had a great view of everything around it, and the leaves provided perfect shade for napping. However today he was not the least tired so he would just pitch his back against the tree and watch his surroundings or at least that was what he thought till he became quite comfy. After awhile of watching the birds flutter around the sky he would nod off into a sleep, only to awake to, "Well it is definitely good that you got more sleep before training, however you made me come get you again." He would say after kicking his foot multiple times to wake him. Solomon would just stretch his arms out and then let them fall the the ground with a thump, then letting out a sigh he would ask, "Is it that time already?"

Solomon would begin to stand but not fast enough for Helious, "Crap" Solomon would state as he realized that his feet were now off the ground as well as he slammed fully back into the tree. "That was something just basic and there was nothing you could do to stop it? ... What if I were to use something advanced? Like the smothering technique I showed you where you force so much wind down the targets throat they die of asphyxiation?" Solomon would just look up to him with a scowl before saying, "Well then oh great mentor you would have killed your pupil within seconds." The sarcasm was meant to be quite blunt, "You need to give me time to learn Hel, you just started showing me this stuff a week ago, not everyone learns as quick as you do." Helious would just shrug, and walk a couple of steps away from Solomon, "Well then we shall go back to day one then... You ready?" Solomon would have the chance to stand and then he would nod to Helious, he was quite confident with himself for this lesson as he had been practicing alone since the day it was showed to him. With waves of his arms the wind would begin to gather around Helious and then shoot forwards towards Solomon, he would have to wait till the right moment then he would open his mouth and begin to consume the air that was shot towards him. However he began to early and once again as his mouth closed his head would then be shot back and crash into the tree behind him.

"Again!" Helious would yell to Solomon, "You will get the perfected before you move onto anything else." Solomon however was still gripping his head for some time as he rolled around in pain, and Helious would just stand there and wait for him. He would be able to see the blood drip down Solomon's head however training had just begun and he was not going to stop for such a small wound. The two of them went on for hours, till the sun was rising once more, that is when Helious himself was surprised, after consuming all of which that was shot at Solomon this time he would then also immediately shoot it back out of his mouth at Helious however at a much quicker speed then his own. This being unexpected Helious would take the brunt of it to his chest and be flung backwards, and with nothing to stop him he would use his own skill allowing him to release air behind him to stop his momentum so he would not end up hurting himself. He would then just walk over to Solomon slowly and as he reached out Solomon would flinch as he thought he was about to be punished however Helious hand would be found rubbing Solomon's head, "Good job boy... let us go home and get some rest now." As they walked away Solomon could not help but look back and look at the skid marks in the ground that came from pushing Helious and smiled as he was happy he learned such a skill. However it was done by chance and even Helious knew this, however he seemed to be happy with Solomon's progress just on the consuming of the wind.

As the two were preparing to sleep as the sun rose Helious would turn to Solomon, "I will be gone for a couple of days as of tomorrow as the boss as asked for me to do a job for him... however it will be quite easy enough to handle alone." Solomon would just nod as it was not the first time that he had been excluded from the "too simple" jobs which were most likely the complete opposite, however Solomon knew not to question it. And with that the two would go to sleep. Awaking the next morning he would find food already prepared for him on the table with a note just underneath it, "I do not care if you wish to train your consumption some more, however do not use the other technique just yet. If I find your better at it when I start to train you at it i'll beat the hell out of you." Solomon found it odd that Helious would rather him not progress as he was away however once again he was not the type to question it.

However Solomon knew what he wished to do today, as most of the time when he had to practice consuming the wind he knew he would have to get to a point that it was not generated prior however when alone he would rather prefect it the easy way before the more difficult way. So before he would go back to the park he would find himself roaming some of the shops, he would pass a couple before one would stop him in his tracks. Looking in he would see many hand made fans everywhere, surprisingly enough Solomon would just grab which ever one he wished to have with no care to price. He would not look it and the shop owner looked at him quite odd before taking his money for the fan however himself and Helious had quite a bit of money however rarely used it. After obtaining the hand made fan he would head to the park they trained in the previous night, regretfully as he arrived he would have to stop and immediately turn around as the park was filled with people and he knew Helious would be pissed if he allowed others to watch him.

After some time Solomon would be able to finally find an empty place to train, finding himself quite far on the outskirts of town, deep within the woods he was able to begin training. He would first attempt to consume the wind that was passing through the woods anytime he could feel a breeze however after time he would begin to use his new hand made wooden fan to generate something right in front of his face. He would have no issues consuming with the wind generated so close and he would not have to worry about timing either was he could just stop fanning when he wished.  It was quite easy and quite repetitive that it would quickly bore him, however he just kept thinking of what Helious would do if he practiced anything but and he would just continue consuming. He could feel as the cold wind went down his throat and after some time he knew he would not be able to take in much more as it filled him greatly, after this feeling that is when he realized maybe that is what happened when he shot it back at him. He took far too much in and his body forced him to throw it back out almost like that of throwing up food. "Unintentionally throwing up is not something I could get in trouble for right?" he would ask himself and consider for a moment. However that is where things would lead down a path the he could not foretell, what he did not notice was that Helious has been just a few paces from him up in a tree watching him for some time. Helious has done this numerous times without Solomon noticing him, as he believed that being a proper mentor he should see how and what choices his pupil would make without him there, and his next decision would make him quite happy. Solomon would begin to suck in so much wind that it would eventually shoot out and create a large dent in the nearby tree, making Solomon so happy that he would begin to smile and dance around. Helious would be just seen with a smile, he was happy to watch the first time Solomon would defy him and take steps on his own path rather then always listening to his words.

After watching Solomon for many hours Helious would leave him once he passed out on the ground, as he knew he would be safe anyway. Then when Solomon finally did come back home Helious would act oblivious to his training, "Thought you were suppose to be gone for a couple days?" Solomon would ask as he immediately walked in. "Well figured I would come back early as the job was that simple, and spend some time training you today no?" He would watch as Solomon panic'd slightly as he knew he was far to exhausted to do such a thing, and after that panic sank in he would then say, "Oh damn ... never mind I forgot to give my report to the boss, i'll be back later tonight was can start up again tomorrow." he would then leave on a walk for many hours, smoking a pack of his favourite cigarettes as he walked the streets. When arriving back home he would find Solomon already passed out in bed sprawled across it with the blankets shoved to the flooring. He would walk over and toss the sheet over him and rub his head as he would then say gently to not wake him, "You will make a great slayer one day my boy, and hopefully surpass me and anyone else who stands in your way." After going to bed himself, Solomon would peak his eye open to watch Helious as he turned in his bed to sleep and would close his eye's once more.

The morning would arrive and this time as Helious awoke he would find Solomon already at the table awaiting him with food on the table, "Well someone is feeling good this morning no?" he would ask Solomon and he would just smile at him. Truly Solomon was just trying to get some points just in case Helious found out about his training. "Yep and ready to begin our training after were done eating." the two of them would train for sometime, before reaching the point where Helious would say, "Well now it's time for us to work on you firing back." Helious would shoot a large blast of air towards Solomon and watch as he absorbed it and then forced to shoot back, and he would just step out of the way. "So we both know that your body can handle you shooting it back however there are many things to work on, for example you shooting it back when you wish rather then being forced too.. and for example what would happen if I were to shoot far to much for you to absorb you would end up taking residual damage from it." Solomon did think about what Helious was telling him however he just did not know how to do it otherwise yet. Helious would begin to slowly walk circular to him, "First just get out of the habit of standing still as you consume and shoot ... you need to be able to constantly move if need be." Helious would make that the basic lesson of that day. Any time that he would see Solomon stop to consume he would over power Solomon by streaming the wind to be too great for Solomon to handle and toss him back due to the pressure. By the end of the day he would learn this lesson well due to pain and physical experience, he knew he would have to split each lessons down by day or possibly days for Solomon as he did not wish to push him too hard.

The next day seeing that Solomon was becoming quite exhausted he would teach him different lessons just by speaking with him, talking about how through repetitiveness that his body will learn to do it quicker through muscle memory and his lung intake would become much better over time. He would teach him the precautions and dangers of possibly taking in other elements and how others can do such things, but would continue to warn him to never attempt to for some time. The next day they would go back to their place in the forest, one would notice all the tree's that were indented from high impacts, and earth upturned from Solomon's body sliding, after time this place looked like their own mini war zone. After many days and many lessons together the day would come that you would see a large smile on both Solomon's face and Helious's face as they would shoot wind at one another as they sprinted, each avoiding each others attack and bobing in and out of behind tree's in a attempt to hit one another off guard. He had not reached Helious's level of experience and skill yet but there would be a time.

Comments/Notes: Apologies, but I am denying this. The reason being is that I personally feel that the training wasn't good enough to merit an approval. For the concept of the magic and training with the master? Yes, you nailed that spot on. The spells, however, I felt were too briefly used, and weren't trained with enough. It felt that you were jumping through them after they were used. I'm sorry, but I am denying this. You can reapply if you wish, but before you post it, I would say to look over the sample and see if you think that the training is good enough to be able to be approved. If anyone has any problems with this, talk to me directly. That's all.

That's all.

Please wait 7 days AFTER the denial to re-apply.

It was a rather calm night as she was walking across the trail the leaves blew by her as she walked wearing a small fur coat to keep her warm from the cold wind. She approached a small grove with a small shrine in the center with various candles still lit around the shrine at the center was a small statue of a woman holding a globe lifting it to the sky while in her other hand was a moon point to the ground. She went to this place whenever she could to meditate and talk a little in her own way to mother in her own way even if she’s no longer among the living. She knelt down and began her daily routine of just talking about how her day went as if her mother was still there talking with her. She was on her knees while she spoke in reverence. She could feel her rage build again as memories of her father’s cruelty flooded back into her mind. All the arguments and abuse both mentally, emotionally, and physically she has endured and how he tossed her out of her home away from everyone she knew and cared for. She focused that rage towards her father as it was the only thing she could do to keep herself semi contained. She prayed for the power to return home and destroy her father it was her sole goal and it didn’t matter what it would take for this goal as long as it was accomplished. It was all she wanted.
Several hours passed by and she was about to get up and leave until she was greeted by a bright light that seemed to have come down from the heavens itself, what deity could possibly want to talk to her… She had some friends up there but she assumed her father destroyed them or forbade them from talking to her. The light dimmed and formed into the shape of a woman, her eyes widened when she recognized that it was Asara the goddess of light. She used to take care of Furia when she was little. When her mother was away and father was unable to be with her…as if he ever was… Furia immediately got down on her hands and knees and spoke in a voice filled with joy. Lady Asara! I cannot express how good it is to see you again….may I ask what brought you here? She could hear a small chuckle from Asara only her womanly figure was shown as her body was covered in light. Please rise you should know better by now that you don’t have to kneel like that to me, I came here because I was watching you since your exile. I’ve seen how your hatred towards your father has changed you into a powerful yet troubled young woman. Furia stood up and they both sat down on the cool grass as Asara continued speaking. This quest of yours is dangerous and quite frankly the only way I see it to end is if you do destroy your father. That is why I am here I am going to give you my power and show you how to use it. It is the only way to even come close to killing your father, with this power you will be known as a god slayer and be able to use this power to slay any deity that gets in your way of reaching your father.
Furia could hardly believe what she was hearing. Asara was willing to hand over her power to destroy the gods. With Asara’s power at her disposal and proper training she can finally return home and destroy father forever. She could hardly contain her happiness before she spoke again her voice shook with anxiety. Well what are we waiting for then! Let’s get started right away! Furia leaped to her feet and waited for Asara who chuckled again at her anxiety. Very well then….please stand still this will only take a moment. She walked up to Furia and placed her hand on her head and a bright flash of light traveled from her hand to Furia causing Furia to stumble back a little after the transfer. It did hurt for a moment but she could feel different already, her body glowed a darkish white color for a moment before it went away. She looked up to Asara for a moment. What’s next? Asara began explaining the concept of what she was given in short bursts it was a slow four day long process but on the last day was when Asara would go into more practical solutions. She always was a slow yet detailed teacher, it might have taken a long time but she wanted to be certain that the concept was clear before continuing on with the next step it is a good system to ensure no one messes up and causes any accidents such as injury or death or something more cataclysmic. I have explained to you the concept of what being a god slayer means but you must know this first. You will be strong as you learn more ways to use this power however there are other slayers out there whether they have gotten there gifts from other deities or through other methods. But there are other types of slayers out there, there is the devil slayers, those who have gotten there power from demons and as such can destroy them with ease and there are those who have the powers of the mighty dragon beasts and as such are capable of harming them. Do not underestimate either of them no matter what. Now then I have shown you what your slayer magic can do from my example but….let us see you try something first. Try anything from a beam or energy to simple light source. Furia listened and molded what was told into her mind. When the time came to practice and use it she went over to a small rock and raised her hand and focused. A few moments there was nothing there but then streams of light started to pour into the palm of her hand as a small ball of bright light slowly but surely flickered into existence at the palm of her hand. HEAVENLY LIGHT! she’d screamed as the ball of energy shot forth from her hand towards the rock and struck it causing a blinding flash of light to occur when it went away she saw a small hole where it struck. It might not look like much but the blinding effect can be useful either way she finally can work on growing on this magic and finally…kill her father.

“Get away from me!” Alex screamed from the top of his lungs, a screech so loud it would send shivers down anyone’s spine. The lean man found himself running through a meadow in the dead of night, the only thing that accompanied him was the white crescent moon… and the beast that chased him. It’s roar echoed throughout the blonde male’s body, signalling to its quick approach. Alex made the mistake of turning his head before everything went black.

Alexandra’s eyes shifted open, the feeling of cold sweat around her face caused her to slowly use the back of her hand to try and wipe most of it off. “It was just a dream.” She sighed to herself, allowing her heartbeat to return to a normal pace before she started off her day. She took a moment to recollect where she was. Perched on a tree near the top of a hill, The girl could see quite far, but her destination was still not within sight. The sun was beginning to peak it’s head over the horizon, the birds chirping away signalling the coming of a new day. A slight smile tickled the girl’s face before she placed her bag around her shoulders once more and leaped off the tree. It was time for her to continue her journey. Where was she headed one might ask? Well she was travelling to seek out the Snow Devil Slayers that were located somewhere in the deep North. Alex had been searching for them for well over a year now with no luck, only whispers and rumours of where they were located. Though, a recent lead was finally sending her towards the right direction. She wasn’t sure what to expect but damn was she oddly excited.

The rest of Alex’s journey had been long rather long, spanning around fifteen days before she finally arrived to the ice capped mountains. The girl wore nothing but a short sleeved shirt and jeans considering she was never bothered by cold climates anyways. Though her feet and back were beginning to seriously ache from all the walking and the lack of a comfortable bed at night. Through the thick snow that came from the heavens, The woman came across a cave lit by chandeliers perched among the ceiling, the blue flames flickering away as if it didn't make the scene any more ominous. She took one step forward before a sense of fear overcame her. Within the depths of the cave, she heard a crackling laugh; that of a witch.

With careful steps, The blonde woman slowly made her way into the cave. With every step, she could feel the temperature drop lower and lower to the point where even she was feeling the shivers. It took maybe five minutes before Alex made her way into a large well lit room. All around were shards of ice, some in the shape of sculptures. At the center of the room on a throne was a woman whose skin and dreaded hair was blue. She wore close to nothing with her legs crossed. Alex had hoped to seduce the male who she thought would be here, but it looked like that plan was out the window.

“Who are you my sweet, precious child.” Her soothing voice spoke, almost angelic. “I’ve come in search for you my queen.” Alex spoke, kneeling on one knee in order to please the Ice Goddess. “Stand child, I don’t tolerate ass kissers.” A smile sneaked on Alex’s lips before she arose once more. It’s like she could read right through her. “If it’s our power you seek, power I can give you… but it won’t come so easy. Prove you are worthy by surviving a fight against me. If you live, I will show your our ways.” There wasn’t much else for her to say because if she didn’t, well she’d be dead. “Are you ready child?” Alex took a second to compose herself before nodding her head. Without any other warning, the match had begun.

With just a rise of her arm, large spikes of ice thundered in a linear fashion towards her. With only a second to react, Alex threw her body to the left, rolling herself elegantly on the cold ground before waving her arms in a circular motions that formed discs of ice. Once formed, the blonde beauty prepared to throw them before what looked like a dragon slammed into her from the right. With quick thinking, she used one of the disks as a shield to lessen the impact. Still, the blow caused a sharp pain across her right shoulder. Alex attempted to regain her composure after the blow, hitting the ground once before regaining her footing. “Well this is fun.” The blonde woman said in-between laughter. It looked like she would have to get a little more serious if she were going to make it out of here alive.

She wiggled her fingers before a a whirlwind of cold wind formed an ice staff. Continuing to move her fingers, she let the staff twirl, carefully blocking the incoming projectiles sent at her. Keeping an eye on her opponent, it was no surprise that the demon hunter charged at Alex with an ice weapon of her own. The two clashed, blocking each others incoming strikes one by one. Though with every blocked hit, another was taken. Alex successfully blocked a blow to her head before taking one to the knee. Her posture dropped momentarily but long enough for the blue skinned goddess to place a kick in the center of the girl’s chest and knock the wind right out of her. She landed flat on her back, the weapon she had shattering into a thousand shards.

The blow she received left the blonde gasping for air. Before she could even get herself up, her hands and feet were shackled to the ground, the ice too thick to break from her own strength. The demon slayer seductively walked toward the trail taker, her weapon turning into frosted great sword. “Good try my sweety, but just not good enough.” She smiled at the struggling Alex who seemed distraught. Just as the demon slayer raised her blade to finish the job, The blonde smiled back. The shards that once made up her staff turned into long thin needles that sprung up and pierced through the blue woman’s body; her eyes widening in shock.

The shackles around the girl’s limbs shattered, freeing her as she stood up. “So, did I pass?” She asked what she could only assume was a corpse at this point. The demon slayer’s body began to turn to ice from the feet up, being frozen for eternity before Alex realized that she resurfaced sitting on her throne. It looked like she had been fighting what seemed to be a clone the whole time. “Well done my dear, You have great control of your elemental magic, better than most of the idiots who have challenged me.” She rose from her seat. “Though you are skilled in Ice magic, there is so much more power to be held, but you know that don’t you or otherwise you wouldn’t be here.” The tall blue skinned woman circled the shorter one. She had to be at least seven feet tall. “In order to gain our power, you must bathe in it, let is soak into your skin. From there, we shall continue.” Before Alex could even inquire what she meant, the devil slayer placed her cold fingertips on the blonde’s shoulder. and before she knew it, her body began to go numb. From the point of contact, her body began to freeze, becoming engulfed in ice. The last thing she saw before everything went dark was then hazy figure of her teacher. “My name is Shiva by the way, see you in a few months my darling.” With that, everything went dark…

“Wakey Wakey…” She heard a distant voice call to her soothingly. “Wake up!” This time, the voice boomed in her head as the sound of shattered glass filled her ears. The ice that had originally engulfed her shattered, dropping Alex onto the cold floor as she tried to lift herself up. If Shiva’s final words were true, it meant she had been engulfed in the ice for at least a few months. It took the blonde a second to train her legs to carry her bodyweight. “Is it done?” The devil slayer in training asked. Shiva grinned, walking away before answering. “See for yourself.”

Alexandra recalled the spells she knew, and figured if with this newfound power, they would be any different. She thought of one of her defensive spells to test out first and gave it a try. Gathering her magic, a feint glow lit up on the girls fingertips before a large ice dome surrounded her body with her at the center. While she had performed this skill before, it was different. The ice used had a blackened tint, and she could almost tell the ice was at least a few inches thicker. This was definitely no ordinary ice magic. “Becoming a Devil Slayer has it’s many perks. One being the ability to consume ice itself to replenish your strength and power… Also — “ Alexandra flicked her head to the right to witness the ice dragon Shiva had used before burst through her defensive dome and right into the girl. It slammed against her side, sending her tumbling to the grounds. While Alex didn’t see the initial point of what just happened, she soon realized that the damage she took felt less than the previous time; significantly less.

“Your tolerance to ice magic is much higher than before, you’ll be able to withstand spells of most ice users.” The blonde girl couldn’t help but grin at this newfound power. “Don’t get to cocky now girl, there is still plenty to learn.” The blonde nodded, and so their training began. She stayed within the cave for several months, totalling the time to a full year since she had initially arrived. Within that time frame, Alex hadn’t yet mastered her talents, but she had a basic understanding of all there was to know and plus some. Her next step was to return to her guild and back to duty. “Buh-bye Shiva darling.” Alexandra belted once she left the tunnel. “I’ll come visit.” …. No she wouldn’t.

    -----------------------------

It was a long journey back but finally, the new devil slayer was almost home. She found herself in an almost familiar situation, making her way through a large field in the dead of night, only the sound of howling wolves to fill the void. In those deep howls came another sound. Rustled grass and heavy stomps leading to where the girl was. Flicking her head, Alex looked behind her and saw the beast, coming at her at full speed. She couldn’t help but smile as she now remembered where this was from. “Deja Vu.” She spoke to herself, laughing at the irony. She didn’t lift a single finger, letting the beast close the distance before he was no more than ten feet away. With a lift of her finger, a shard of ice the size of a pine tree pierced the the large beast’s chest; it’s blood tainting the darken ice as the life drained out of it. Alex twirled on her heel and kept walking, whistling away her favourite tune.
